The famous version is a mash-up of two separate videos. The cat is Minette, a friend's cat filmed by Quebec creator Mick Lagi and posted on TikTok in April 2020, originally set to an EDM track. The musician is Bilal Göregen, a blind Turkish street performer who had been filmed in 2019 singing the Finnish folk song "Ievan Polkka" while playing a tambourine on a bench. In October 2020 someone edited the cat into his video, and "Cat Vibing to Ievan Polkka" spread everywhere, sending Göregen's own video to millions of new views.

On Twitch and Discord the same head bob became the "catJAM" emote, which is why "cat jam meme" and "vibing cat" point to the same clip. People use it whenever a song is simply too good, or to show they're nodding along to anything.

Searches for a "vibing cat template" or "vibing cat green screen" are mostly people trying to put the cat over their own music. That gives you Minette, not your cat. ReelMe redoes the whole scene instead: your cat in the foreground, the musician behind, the original song kept. Adding your own photo for the musician is optional; leave it empty and the original performer stays.

Use a photo of your cat sitting upright and facing the camera, with both ears and the face clearly visible. Any colour works; the AI keeps your cat's coat rather than turning it white. For the musician slot, a simple head-and-shoulders photo of a person is enough.

FAQ

What is the vibing cat song?

"Ievan Polkka," a Finnish folk song, as performed by the Turkish street musician Bilal Göregen. The cat's original TikTok used a different song; the polka version is the one that became the meme.

Is the vibing cat the same as catJAM?

Yes. catJAM is the Twitch and Discord emote made from the same head-bobbing white cat.

Can I put myself in it as the musician?

Yes. The template has an optional second slot for the person on the bench. Upload your own photo and you play the street musician while your cat vibes in front.

Can I make my cat vibe to a different song?

The template keeps the original Ievan Polkka audio. If you want a different track, you can swap the sound when you post it, for example in TikTok's editor.

How does it work and what does it cost?

Upload a photo, pay $3.99 once, and the video is ready in about a minute. No app, account or subscription, and failed generations are refunded automatically.
