Gangnam Style elevator trend: you and a friend in the elevator
The Gangnam Style elevator trend is people dropping themselves and a friend into the most chaotic 13 seconds of PSY's music video. On ReelMe, pick the Gangnam Style Elevator template, upload your photo for PSY's role (sunglasses, light-blue jacket, seated on the elevator floor) and, if you like, a friend's photo for the dancer who ends up above you. Pay $3.99, and about a minute later you get the clip with the original track, no editing.

1.3B viewsThe source is PSY's "Gangnam Style" video from July 2012. In the stretch the template uses, PSY has a dance-off in an underground parking garage with a man in a bright yellow suit (comedian Yoo Jae-suk), then cuts to an elevator: PSY is sitting on the floor, the doors open, and TV comedian Noh Hong-chul, in a green t-shirt, is dancing and thrusting right over him while PSY raps straight at the camera. Noh became known internationally as "the Gangnam Style elevator guy" from that one shot. The video went on to become the first on YouTube to pass one billion views, on 21 December 2012.
Fourteen years on, the scene has turned into a remake format. You'll see it in game edits (the autocomplete suggestions for Forsaken and gacha games come from people redrawing the moment with their characters), in friend duos, and in AI remakes. The "gangnam style capcut template" searches mostly lead to beat-synced edits that let you cut your own footage to the song, which is fine if you've already filmed yourself dancing in an elevator. If you want the actual shot, with your face in it, a template edit can't do that.
ReelMe's version has one detail that's easy to miss: the optional friend photo covers both the yellow-suit dancer in the garage and the green-shirt elevator guy, so your friend is your rival in the dance-off and then the person looming over you in the elevator. With one photo only, the other dancers stay as in the original.
Use clear, front-facing photos. The template adds the sunglasses, so a photo without glasses works best for you; your friend's photo should show their whole face because the elevator shot is a close angle. Pairs with very different heights or hair look funnier, not worse.

Is there a Gangnam Style CapCut template for the elevator scene?
